In Vagueness is concerned with the lives of asylum seekers in Germany. The photographs were taken in asylum seeker residencies in Hennigsdorf and Potsdam in 2011.

Laughter is at the centre of these conceptual portraits. Consequently, the portrayed men and women have the opportunity to hide behind a mask: an attempt to disguise their circumstances, uncertainties and anxieties.
This approach poses a challenge to the viewer: to reconsider stereotypical representations of asylum seekers.
